The Annual Fund

Supporting the Future Today

When you make a gift to the Annual Fund, you become a part of the future success of the College of Commerce and Business Administration. Recurring annual funds help the college operate seamlessly and efficiently by providing for eduactional needs and opportunities as they arise. These gift truly help us remain competitive by providing support for our greatest assets -- the students and faculty.

Many donors make annual gifts for specific purposes, for example, to support individual scholarships, fellowships, lectures, seminars, and faculty research. Unrestricted annual funds help underwrite outreach activities, including our publications program, emergency student loans, some scholarships and fellowships, and faculty research. Annual funds also support four Investors in Business Education Professorships. Indeed, these and other gifts help us attract and retain the best students and faculty. An institution of higher learning is only as good as the students who attend, the faculty who teach, and whose research brings renown to its name. And of course, one of the most important measures of a university's success is its alumni. Your success helps keep the tradition of excellence alive. Keep the value of your Illinois degree strong by supporting the programs and students of today. In Fiscal '97, the college is launching a premier annual fund, the David Kinley Society.

DAVID KINLEY SOCIETY

David Kinley, founder of the College of Commerce and Business Administration, helped establish the tradition of excellence that has become the hallmark of business education at Illinois. It seems appropriate to link his name with a society of Commerce alumni and friends who are committed to and concerned with the college's stature and success and who recognize the importance of an academically strong and independently capable College of Commerce.

To become a member of the David Kinley Society, donors must make a gift of $1,000 or more. Gifts to the David Kinley Society may be used to fulfill a donor's commitment to the Presidents Council. There are four giving levels:

Platinum $10,000 and above;
Gold $5,000 to $10,000;
Silver $2,500 to $5,000;
Bronze $1,000 to $2,500.

We hope to encourage donors to become permant members of the Society by contributing yearly.

Gifts from donors like you have strengthened the college over the years and continue to contribute to its reputation as one of the best business schools in the nation. Annual, non-restricted income, like many of the gifts made to the David Kinley Society, supports activities not covered by state appropriation and tuition. These are frequently the very activities that provide the margin of excellence that can turn our vision into reality. The college has set an ambious goal of $1 million in flexible, annual support for Fiscal '97. We recognize that we have set our sights very high, but we believe we can reach this goal with the support of loyal, successful alumni and friends like you. Projects that we would like the David Kinley Society to support include:

The importance of gifts to the Annual Fund, through membership in the David Kinley Society or at other giving levels, cannot be overstated. These gifts allows us both to take advantage of and create opportunities for today's students and faculty, opportunities that insure continued success of the college in the future.
